Meet the Doctor
Wayne H. Wertheim, M.D. - Medical Director
Dr. Wertheim completed his postgraduate training in internal medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. For over 24 years he practiced primary care medicine on Long Island with practices in Roslyn and Garden City. During this time, his hospital associations included North Shore University Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and the Winthrop University Hospital. Dr. Wertheim has held academic teaching appointments at both the Cornell University Medical College and the School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Throughout his years in practice, Dr. Wertheim developed a strong interest in anti-aging medicine, bariatrics and nutritional supplementation. He is an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the International Medical Spa Society. He continually expands his knowledge base by attending aesthetic conferences and advanced training seminars both nationally and internationally.
During the last several years he has explored the various alternatives in non-invasive procedures to help slow down or correct the effects of aging, particularly of the skin. He has researched equipment and therapies that are not only state-of-the-art, efficacious, cost-effective and therapeutic but also safe. Dr. Wertheim decided to leave his primary care practice in March 2005 in order to devote his full time efforts to serve as medical director of Advanced Laser of Long Island.
Dr. Wertheim has developed a reputation for having an outstanding bedside manner and for treating all his patients with care and compassion. Dr. Wertheim stands by his belief that all his patients should be, "treated as if they are family. Recommendations and treatments are offered only with the best interests of the patient in mind. I have derived much positive feedback and joy in this exciting new field of aesthetic medicine. The procedures we perform prove to have beneficial effects not only to our patients' skin but to their overall sense of confidence and psychological well being."

Steven G. Wallach, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Wallach is a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in performing aesthetic procedures of the face and body. He has been featured in New York Magazine's "Best Beauty Docs" issue as one of the field's sharpest new talents. Dr. Wallach is the current President of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgery. He is also a technical editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
Dr. Wallach is an associate clinical professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Inc., a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of numerous other local and national societies. Dr. Wallach reviews manuscripts for acceptance to peer reviewed journals in such prestigious publications as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
He has published numerous peer reviewed scientific articles on aesthetic surgery and has presented on such diverse topics as face lift surgery, neck lift surgery, nasal surgery, breast reduction surgery, body contour surgery, breast augmentation performed through the tummy tuck incision that is performed in conjunction with tummy tucks, limited access surgery, and botulinum toxin.
As an expert on plastic surgery, Dr. Wallach is regularly quoted in national and consumer magazines and newspapers including: New York Magazine, Newsweek, Oprah, Vogue, InStyle, Family Circle, Glamour, Latina, and Shape to name a few. He has also appeared on numerous television and radio talk shows to discuss his experience performing aesthetic surgery.

Prudence L. Ferrone - Director of Aesthetic Services
"Prudy," as she is affectionately known around the office, has been in the personal care, beauty, and wellness industry for over 20 years. The roots of her aesthetic interests first sprang up when she began working for Lancôme cosmetics as a make-up artist. Following that she began working as a wardrobe coordination consultant for Beauty Control. In her continuing desire to work with people, fashion, and glamour, she entered the world of fragrance as a consultant for Burberry and Boucheron. As Prudy began her family, she tapped her entrepreneurial spirit by launching a successful jewelry design company where she served as both senior designer and CEO. As her family grew, she began focusing on using her multifaceted skills and experience in the growing medical cosmetic arena. Her first step was to enter the field of personal care and nutritional supplementation with the international giant Nu Skin® Enterprises and Pharmanex®. While there, Prudy was a respected trainer and lecturer while achieving the pinnacle of success and earning capacity. During this time she was also responsible for bringing to fruition the concept of nutritional wellness centers to medical practices, creating over 200 in the tri-state area.
Prudy could not have been a better candidate to join and excel in the field of aesthetic medicine.
